Navigate apps with Fire TV Cube’s hands-free voice control
“Alexa, scroll right.” “Alexa, select.”
While users have been able to utilize Alexa voice control on many mainstream 3rd-party apps for a while now, it’s been a somewhat limited tool. Viewers could search for content and control media playback with voice commands, but this support didn’t cross over into app navigation, which forced users to pick up the remote to make their selection… that is, until now.
Navigating through apps like Netflix and Hulu has been never been easier, and it’s partially due to viewers like you! After listening to customer feedback and understanding that streamers want voice navigation on their favorite apps (just like they have on the Fire TV home screen) the process has been updated to a seamless hands-free experience with Amazon Fire TV Cube. Effective immediately, you can now navigate through the apps you love — and all without lifting a finger.
Truly hands-free.
Use the updated voice commands in lieu of your remote’s directional buttons. Chime in “Alexa, go right,” or “Alexa, go left.” You can tell Alexa to move or go in any direction. Once the item is highlighted within the app, say, “Alexa, select,” or “Alexa, select this,” and your voice is a handy replacement for your remote’s select button!
